FOLLOW AFTER THE THINGS OF THE SPIRIT
“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” 13 “For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God” (Rom. 8:1,13-14). “I say then: walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish,” 22 “But the faith of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit” (Gal. 5:16-17, 22-25).
LIVE A GODLY LIFE
“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age” (Titus 2:11-12). “But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, buy only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life” (Rev. 21:27).
FAITHFULLY FOLLOW THE TEACHING OF CHRIST TO THE END OF LIFE
“And you will be hatred by all for my name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved “ (Matt. 10:22). “… Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life” (Rev. 2:10). “For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them” (2 Pet. 2:20-21).
ADD THE CHRISTIAN GRACES AND BEAR SPIRITUAL FRUIT
“But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the Knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Pet. 1:5-11).
ONCE SAVED, YOU CAN BE LOST
“But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified” (1 Cor. 9:27). “therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall” (1 Cor. 10:12). “You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace” (Gal. 5:4).
REPENT, CONFESS, AND PRAY
When we sin we must repent of it, confess it and pray to God that we may be forgiven. Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the though of your heart may be forgiven you” (Acts 8:22). “Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” 19 “Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins” (James 5:16,19-20).
