HUNGER AND THIRSTING FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS

blessed are those who are hunger and thirsting for righteousness

Text:Matthew.5; 6. Psalm. 51

Main Message: Those who feel hungry and are thirsting for righteousness shall be filled.

1. DEFINITIONS:

a)Feeling of Intense desire to be righteous arising from the knowledge and love of God.

b)It is the Active extension of Spiritual Mourning

c)It is the ACTION of the SOUL which commences from the MIND and manifest in ACTION of our spirit, soul and Body.

2. PROCESS

It is a 3 Action Process:

i.The MIND through:

a)Reading the Bible of the Power and Mercy of God

b)Listening to the Word of God/Gospel and Church Attendance

c)Continuous Personal Meditation on the Word.

ii.The SOUL through:

a)Understanding and Inner conviction of the Power &Mercy in God

b)Love of God as a result of this Conviction/Understanding

iii.Resulting in:

a)True/Intense desire of the Soul and spirit to Please God; to be righteous; to obey God.

b)Habit or series of Actions to Please God:

Hunger and thirst for Righteousness

3. Implications

a.Those who sincerely love God and sincerely and intensely desire to please God and be righteous would be filled with the fulfillment of that desire. LK.11;10 -13

b.If we continuously have problem with being righteous, we should check our desire. Ez. 36;27.

4. The Actions are reciprocal as in Fruit and Seed:

iv.Cowards/Not Courageous

v. Self Confidence and Self Righteousnes

vi. Procrastination

vii. Despising the law/Mercy of God. Prov. 28;9. 21;13

7. What Should we Do?

Seeking God to Please Him. with all our Heart Duet. 4;29. 2 Chro. 14;4. Jer. 29; 13. Through:

i. Reading the Bible of the Power and Mercy of God

ii. Listening to the Word of God/Gospel and Church Attendance

iii. Continuous Personal Meditation on the Word. Examples and reading . assignments. Ps. 51. Ps. 119.1 to end.

iv. Avoid or Overcome Hindrances mentioned above.
